FAQ

Water Damage

Q: How long does it take to respond to a water damage call?
A: We give priority status to all emergency calls. An hour or less is typical for water damage.

Q: I have water damage; will my insurance company pay for it?
A: Most insurance companies will pay for "sudden" water losses. Slow leaks usually are not covered.

Water Damage / Mold

Q: Is there a meter that can be used to tell me if we have mold?
A: A mold meter does not exist. Our technicians can usually identify mold visually. A lab test is the scientific method of identifying mold, and is typically costly.

Q: Do you perform a "put back" after water or mold damage?
A: Yes, we are a general contractor and can handle most reconstruction requirements.

Q: How long does it take for mold to grow?
A: Laboratory testing shows mold can start to grow in as little as 72 hours., but in the real work at least one week

Q: How can I best prevent mold?
A: The best way to prevent mold is to prevent leaks and keep structure clean and dry.

Carpet Cleaning

Q: You have changed your name from Coburn Carpet Services, Inc. to Coburn Restoration. Do you still provide the same carpet services?
A: Yes, we still clean, repair, sell and install carpet and flooring.

Q: How much will it cost to clean our carpet and what kind of cleaning equipment do you use? What kind of residue does it leave?
A: We provide an over the phone cleaning estimate for truck mounted carpet cleaning. The cost depends on how many areas you want cleaned. Our process leaves carpets virtually residue free.

Q: Do I pay at the time of service?
A: Yes, we accept cash & checks.

Q: Do I need to be home for my carpet cleaning appointment and do I need to move my furniture and vacuum?
A: No. You do not need to be home if you have arranged for access and payment before hand. We ask the customer to move any antiques, electronics, toys and clothes out of the way. We will move some furniture. Vacuuming is not necessary unless visible debris is on the carpet.

Q: Do you work weekends?
A: We are available on weekends.

Q: Do you clean commercial properties?
A: Yes!

Q: How long is the drying time following a cleaning? Can I walk on the carpet?
A: Drying time varies with the seasons, weather and carpet type. It can take between 4 and 24 hours to dry. We provide booties for our customers to wear, so they may walk on the carpet without concern.

Q: How often should I clean my carpets?
A: Twice a year is average, yet more often if you have children or pets. Be sure to have carpets cleaned before the traffic lines become noticeable.

General

Q: How long have you been in business?
A: We have been in business since 1994.
