Your insurance agent and/or adjuster are the only qualified individuals to answer specific coverage questions. Generally, sudden water losses tend to be covered by many insurance companies. Remember that the policy holder decides whether to file a claim and which contractor to use. Insurance companies cannot decide for you or direct you to use a specific contractor. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to protect their home from further damage.

Smoke damage can be caused by a fire within or outside of the home. Generally speaking fires inside the home create more significant damage then those originating outside the home.

Due to the large variation in the services that may be required, smoke restoration jobs can last from several days up to a month.

After a fire seriously damaged their home, an elderly couple was overwhelmed with the work of cleaning both the inside and outside of their home. They were confused and frustrated with the problems. They hired us for this large smoke damage job. All of our services were involved. They wanted us to work with several of their contractors, as well as with our employees and sub-contractors. This required extensive interface with their insurance company. The insurance dealings were cumbersome due to the size of the claim and complicated by the sheer number of invoices, receipts and paperwork. The sizeable paperwork resulted from the one month plus timeframe during which the customers had been living in a hotel, piling up living expenses. After working with several adjusters and doing some custom reconstruction of the home’s interior and a major cleaning of the house, garage, attic and the contents of each, the job was done. We willingly provided numerous estimate revisions, completed check endorsement procedures with mortgage banks, kept in constant communication with the insurance company as well as the couples’ close relatives. We completed the job with total customer satisfaction.
